Tomatoes are the most popular food grown at home; we love them. Conor’s tomato and chilli chutney is a great way to get the most from your harvest, tastes excellent and is simple to do. Perfect slathered in a sandwich for a fragrant kick.

  • Ingredients

    • 250g chopped red onions
    • 500g chopped fresh tomatoes
    • 2 crushed garlic cloves
    • 5 fresh red chilli's, roughly chopped
    • A thumb-size piece of ginger chopped
    • 125g brown sugar
    • 125ml red wine vinegar
    • 1/2 tablespoon paprika
  • Method

    • Place all of your ingredients into a large, heavy-based pan and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
    • Slowly simmer for 1 hour.
    • Using your Kenwood blender, blend all of the ingredients to combine but not too smooth.
    • Pour it back into your pot and slowly bring it back to the boil, season with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Place into a jar and leave to cool, then put into your fridge. It'll keep for two months.
